This is an assessment for adults ages 18+ who have been convicted of, or are facing sentencing for a sexual offense or those who have been convicted of a sexual offense. The assessment will include a clinical overview of bio-psycho-social background, sexual development, sexual regulation, and risks congruent with recidivism of problematic sexual behaviors.
A psycho-sexual evaluation is used to review an individual’s sexual history and provide information regarding their sexual identity, sexual interests, and evaluate the presence of any paraphilic behaviors. In addition, a psycho-sexual evaluation provides recommendations for the treatment of sexually inappropriate or illegal behaviors and a risk assessment for recidivism. Often psycho-sexual evaluations are requested as part of sex-specific treatment to determine treatment progress, make recommendations regarding safety, and may include a polygraph examination.
Please expect a psycho-sexual evaluation to last between 3-4 hours depending on the participant’s history and if a polygraph examination is required. We recommend completing this assessment in two sessions within close proximity to one another, although it can be completed in a single session with sufficient breaks. Tele-health or virtual assessments are available for psycho-sexual evaluations. There are many different tests used throughout this evaluation so it is important to bring your glasses and/or any hearing aids as required.
A typical psycho-sexual evaluation report takes between 2-4 weeks to complete, but this may vary depending on a number of factors including complexity, cooperation, and breadth of records. Once the report is completed, it will be provided to the referring source and may be shared with the participant directly. You will be given the opportunity to schedule a 30-minute feedback session to discuss pertinent findings and answer any questions

A comprehensive psychological evaluation is a useful tool to help with diagnosis and treatment planning. This evaluation provides detailed understanding of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal functioning. Frequently, these evaluations are requested by other providers or referring agencies to help answer specific questions about their patients’ mental health and provide treatment tailored to their specific needs.

Court-ordered therapy, also known as court-mandated therapy or mandatory therapy, is a type of therapy ordered by a court as part of a legal proceeding. It's often mandated as a condition of probation, parole, or in cases involving child custody, domestic violence, or mental health concerns. The goal is to address underlying issues and improve behavior, even though the individual may not have chosen to participate in the therapy.

Teen sexual development is dynamic; while families have different expectations, it’s normal for teens to explore relationships and sexuality. Problematic sexual behavior may include non-consensual actions, inappropriate relationships, sharing nude photos, and excessive pornography use. This topic can be challenging to address, but you're not alone—We’re here for you.
Treatment starts with a comprehensive assessment and identifies targeted treatment areas and includes a review of any relevant documents such as CPS reports, forensic evaluations, police reports, court orders (when relevant), and a family/collateral contact interview.

Individuals who have engaged in sexually abusive or sexually compulsive behaviors may be required by an attorney, CPS, court or supervision authority, to have an assessment prior to returning to live in a home where there are minors or prior to any contact being granted with minors, including their own non-victim children. Specialized assessments have been developed specifically targeting the identification of the risk to children to meet these needs. The purpose of these assessments is to identify targets of treatment, level of risk to re-offend, and/or outline expectations for conditions of supervision.
What is Family Reunification?
Family reunification is a therapeutically guided process of reintroducing an individual who has been estranged or removed from a family situation due to an allegation, finding, or conviction of sexual abuse. This process requires close collaboration with all professionals involved in the case and varies in length depending on the specific dynamics involved. The modalities utilized also differ from case to case, but can include various therapeutic configurations such as the whole family, siblings, parent/child, individual etc.
Where do I start? Family Reunification Assessment
